ANNOUNCING A NEW LISTENING CLUB SEASON AT AUDIOTHEQUE
The third season of the Listening Club begins this coming Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at 8PM with curator Gustavo Matamoros’ SONGBOOK I: What Are Birds Singing About?
The word ‘song’ is used by poets,
musicians and ornithologists alike
So what makes the song a song?
the language? the melody?
the warbling? something else?
This episode is in the form of a
songbook — an anthology of recorded
songs many of which may not sound
like it to you or me
Warning: some of this music may
evoke strong emotions, bring about
laughter and even tears
The Listening Club is a series of monthly curated listening sessions produced by SFCA [isaw+subtropics] at Audiotheque that expose general audiences to listening experiences that foster a deeper understanding and enjoyment of sound. See the full schedule below and for more information download our Season 3 Brochure designed by Claudia Ariano
