listening s(((o)))unday is a series of free listening-discussions
hosted by sfca [isaw+subtropics.org] at artcenter / south florida,
in our listening room studio located at 924 lincoln road.
our listening room is equipped with eight channels of discrete audio
and only 15 chairs … assuring an immersing intimate sound experience.
we recommend that you make reservations and arrive 15 minutes
before showtime since your spaces can not be guarantied.
World Listening Day happens annually on July 18th, the birth date of
R. Murray Schafer, a Canadian composer who established the
World Soundscape Project. Its research laid the foundations
for what became known as Soundscape Studies and Acoustic Ecology.
