The three-week biennial features world premieres, 12 concerts, an eight-hour-long marathon, and live webcasts
Miami’s 24th Biennial of Experimental Music and Sound Art
Curated by Gustavo Matamoros, Subtropics will featuring (mostly) world premieres of new + electroacoustic music, multichannel + interactive intermedia works, sound installations + performances by guest artists, Olivia Block, Jennie Gottscalk, Barbara Held, Alison Knowles and Zeena Parkins, John Driscoll, David Dunn, and composer-members of AMEE (Assoc. de Música Electroacústica de España)
The festival will also feature Miami creatives like Alba Triana, Rene Barge, Robert Blatt, Dan Dickinson, and others, in full evening concerts and in the Subtropics Marathon Concerts presented at Audiotheque will be webcast worldwide. Other events will take place at ArtCenter’s Project924 and other Miami Beach venues
